Dr. Brandon J. Wentzel, Executive Director
Dr. Brandon J. Wentzel graduated with honors from the New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) in Seneca Falls in 2004. During his schooling, he served as an intern at the Depew Health Center in Depew, N.Y., the salvation army of Buffalo, and was one of a select few to be awarded a chiropractic rotation within Monroe Community Hospital of Rochester. In keeping with his deep respect for our nation’s veterans, Dr. Wentzel also served an externship with the VA Hospital of Buffalo. As one of only two chiropractors on staff, he was the first American to ever extern as a chiropractor within a VA Hospital. During this time, he treated military personnel returning from overseas and assisted highly respected orthopedic surgeons and pain management specialists. A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Wentzel graduated with honors from California University (PA) in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Pre-Chiropractic Medicine.
Dr. Yarelie Rivera, Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Yarelie Rivera is a 2004 honors graduate from New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) in Seneca Falls. During her studies, Dr. Rivera completed an internship at the Levittown Health Center in Levittown, N.Y. while also participating in rotations at the Salvation Army of Freeport, the Haven Clinic of Bethpage and at the State University of New York in Farmingdale. Dr. Rivera also received a certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association for Principles and Practice of Chiropractic Pediatrics and proficiency on Webster Technique for pregnancy. Chiropractic pediatrics and pregnancy is indeed Dr. Rivera’s passion. “There is no greater satisfaction than being able to help a child live a happier, healthier life,” she says. Dr. Rivera graduated from University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences. Today, Dr. Rivera holds a position as director of chiropractic for the Institute of Pain Management in Beaver, PA as well as teaching patho physiology as an Adjunct Instructor for the School of Health & Rehab Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mark G. Franz, D.O., Medical Director
Dr. Mark Franz has been affiliated with Health First Medical Center for more than two decades. As Medical Director, he has addresses the specific needs of our patients in order to evaluate their condition and determine their appropriate plan of care.
The education and experience of Dr. Franz provides patients treating at Health First with comprehensive medical care. Dr. Franz graduated from pre-medical studies at Garmon University in Erie, PA. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Franz completed his medical education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at Community Hospital in Lancaster, PA.
Dr. Franz is Board Certified in Family Practice with certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He is also a Diplomat of the American Board of Disability Analysts.

Derrick J. Cleveland, PA-C, Physicians Assistant
Derrick Cleveland has been a Physician Assistant at Health First Medical Center for more than 12 years. Derrick has successfully provided the highest quality of care to the patients of Health First.
Derrick received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physician Assistant and Pre-Physical Therapy with a minor in Psychology from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Masters in Physician Assistant Services with a focus on Rural Primary Care.
An avid photography enthusiast, Derrick hones his craft every chance he gets, including athletic events, travel and portrait photography.
Shaye Oravetz, DPT
Shaye Oravetz is a 2007 graduate of Duquesne University where she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. She also received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurial Studies and Marketing Management from Seton Hill University in 2002. Dr. Oravetz is a member of APTA and the Orthopedic Specialty Section. Her clinical affiliations have included multiple outpatient clinics such as Excella Health Outpatient clinic at Mountain View, East Suburban Sports Medicine at Ruby Memorial Hospital’s acute care unit and Westmoreland Regional Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Oravetz completed observation and training in Pilates-based therapy with OSPTA and holds multiple levels of certification in Pilates.
Growing up in the area, Dr. Oravets has a strong desire to give back to the community in which she was raised through her work in physical therapy rehabilitation.
Dr. Matthew Stay, D.C.
Dr. Matthew A Stay joined the staff of Health First Medical Center in early 2016. He graduated with honors from Palmer College Chiropractic – Davenport in 2013. With his four years of diverse chiropractic experience, Dr. Stay brings an array of treatment knowledge to patients at Health First Medical Center. Dr. Stay also has a keen interest in treating athletes and in helping them reach their full athletic potential. In addition to serving as an intern with the Sports Rehabilitation Department at Palmer College of Chiropractic – Davenport Campus, Dr. Stay also received certifications in the Active Release Technique (ART) for treating soft tissue injuries.
In his spare time, Dr. Stay enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as following local athletics.
